Overview
Provisioning in Fixiam allows you to manage users across connected systems from one place.
Instead of creating and updating users separately in each application, Fixiam enables you to control how users are created, updated, and maintained across your environment.
This helps reduce manual work, improve consistency, and ensure users always have the right access.
What You Can Do
With provisioning, you can:
- Send users from Fixiam to connected applications
- Keep user data consistent across systems
- Reduce duplicate user management
- Manage user lifecycle from a central point
How Provisioning Works in Fixiam
Fixiam acts as a central point for managing user identity and access.
When a user is created or updated in Fixiam, those changes can be sent to connected systems such as:
- Cloud applications (e.g. Slack)
- Identity providers (e.g. Microsoft Entra ID)
Each integration defines how users are synchronized and what data is shared.
Outbound Provisioning
Fixiam supports outbound provisioning, which means users are managed in Fixiam and then sent to other systems.
This allows Fixiam to:
- Create users in connected applications
- Update user information when changes occur
- Keep systems aligned without manual intervention
Provisioning Methods
Fixiam uses different methods to provision users depending on the system being connected.
These include:
- SCIM (for standardized user provisioning to supported applications)
- API-based provisioning (for systems like Microsoft Entra ID)
These methods work in the background and are configured as part of each integration.
What to Expect
When provisioning is set up correctly:
- Users created in Fixiam appear in connected systems
- Updates made in Fixiam are reflected in those systems
- Access and user data remain consistent across your environment
